Events are fundamentally about communication, and the sights and sounds of an event are an important component. Signage is a meaningful and effective way to communicate information, important messages, and marketing to attendees.
Signage is, or can also be, one of the biggest areas of waste from an event if not thought through properly with regards to materials being used, quantities of signage and their proper disposal as a part of the green meeting strategy. Fortunately, new banner and signage materials are starting to come to the market at increasingly more affordable rates, and with the advent of digital signage, both at venues and available through rental, event planners now have more choices on how to use signage and still be green. This workshop session will delve into the materials and signage options you can employ in your green meeting strategy.
By attending this session participants will learn to:
• Understand the choices you can make in terms of materials and quantities of signage that affect your green meeting strategy
• Understand the options you have with regards to signage disposal, re-use, or recycling as a part of overall waste management and reporting
• Learn more about digital signage as an option and the implications of both cost and overall energy usage as a trade-off against more traditional signage
